Today we celebrate more than just tacos and tequila—Cinco de Mayo marks the Battle of Puebla, where a small Mexican army defeated the powerful French forces in 1862. It’s a day that symbolizes resilience, pride, and heritage.

While it's not Mexico's Independence Day (that’s in September!), here in the U.S., it’s become a way to honor Mexican culture, food, and community—and we’re all about that at Estrella Negra!
